  • About Father Elias Lorenzo

    Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Father Elias Lorenzo is a clergyman who serves as the prior of the Primatial Abbey of Sant'Anselmo, located in Aventine Hill, Rome. Prior to this role, he worked as a secondary teacher and administrator at Delbarton School, of Morristown, New Jersey. Throughout his 22-year tenure at the school, Father Elias Lorenzo served as director of campus ministry, a member of the board of trustees, vice president, and vice president for external affairs.

     

    Father Lorenzo earned his bachelor's degree in philosophy at Don Bosco College in New Jersey. He also earned a master's degree in liturgical theology from St. John's University and a master’s in counseling psychology from Seton Hall University. He finished his education by earning a licentiate of canon law at The Catholic University of America, based in Washington, DC. He belongs to numerous organizations, including the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions, the New Jersey Professional Counselors Association, the Monastic Liturgy Forum, and the Canon Law Society of America, in addition to being a National Certified Counselor.
